Mole-should i get it checked out?
I’ve had this mole all my life…..well half of what it is now. (see linked picture). I was just wondering whether it’s worth getting it checked out? Im 17, so the change in size could possibly to do with growing and developing. But i’m just curious. I’ve also got a lump in this breast, but 2 GPs at my surgery just say it’s a ‘mousey’ cyst, and nothing to worry about (and i’m not worried about it)
Well any way, heres the link:
The first half of the picture is photoshopped to show what it used to look like. Or as well as i can show. And the second half is what it is now. All the shadings and outlines are what it looks like in real life too. It’s about 1 cm long and at the fattest point 0.6 cm wide and at the thinnest 0.3 cm wide. Thanks.
I agree it doesn’t look “malignant”…however, whenever you have a mole or lesion that you have had present for your life start changing, it is a good idea to have it monitored by a dermatologist. I work at a derm office, and basically they will look at the area under a dermoscope and they can diagnose it, and then they may take photographs of it and keep a watch on what it does for the next 6 months to a year. Again, it doesn’t look typical of a skin cancer, so that is good, but again, when something starts changing in size and/or color, it is a good idea to have a dermatologist check it out.
