Can I splice 2 power wires from RMS rated 100 watt speakers to a single channel on a 600 watt amp?
I basically want to know if the speakers can be powered on a single channel to give room for the other equipment in my car. Will the four channel 600 watt amp power a single channel with 150 watts and that would be enough for the 2 spliced 100 watt rms rated speakers right?
Or suggest a different amp or setup please
Ok i’m working with alpine spr 60s, alpine spr 69s and alpine swe 1043 sub. Also a pioneer ede 1300mp head unit. I was looking at a crunch p1 600.4 watt amp because of price. I was looking to spend around $400-$500 and on ebay i got this range with this product lineup. Please make any suggestions.
Probably the best wiring solution for that equipment would be to power the front speakers and subwoofer from the amp, and power the rear speakers directly from the head unit internal amp.
The subwoofer is SVC 4 ohm. The amp will operate “4/3/2″ with one pair of the channels (rear) bridged for the sub.
With this configuration you won’t lose any front/rear fade or left/right balance and the only downside is the somewhat lower head unit power to the rear speakers. But there won’t be any impedance matching issues and the sub will perform much better with a pair of bridged channels.
